Lilly is an artist working closely with the connection between nature and story, as a pathway to deepen and reflect relationship to the more-than-human world. Printmaking, earth pigments, wild clay and found objects shape her practice. Materials hold journeys that began long before her, and these qualities guide and become deeply embedded within the work. Her work explores self as nature, to become an expression of unanimity and affinity with our living world.
Lilly is an artist working with creativity as a pathway to explore the threads connecting us to the living world. Often, through the vehicle of storytelling, she explores ideas of transformation, closely inspired by the materials she works with. Earth pigments, wild clay, found objects and etching are all a part of her process. They hold and contain their own journeys, with qualities that guide and become deeply embedded in the work.
Lilly received her BA in Sculpture and Environmental art from the Glasgow School of Art in 2024. Over the course of her studies here, her practice became deeply entwined with the land.
Her pieces are made out of a love for the natural world. Often, she works closely with the element of water, extracting colours gently from different natural materials. She creates as a practice of listening, connecting to an ever present wonder and awe for all life.
